Profile completeness
Every field Google offers your type of business, from the description (up to 750 characters) and hours to products, attributes and photos, checked against Google's guidelines rather than just filled in.
You can see competitors in the map pack but not your own business, and you cannot tell whether the problem is your categories, your reviews or something Google has flagged. A local SEO audit answers that with evidence, so you know what to fix first.

Quick answer
A local SEO audit checks everything that affects whether your business appears in Google Maps and the local pack: your Google Business Profile, your listings on other sites, your reviews, your website's location pages and where you actually rank across your service area. Ours is free and ends with a short list of fixes in order of value.
Most audits stop at a checklist of empty fields. We compare your profile with Google's own guidelines, because a field filled in the wrong way can do more harm than an empty one. A keyword in the business name, a virtual office used as an address or a duplicate listing can lead to a suspension, so those risks come first.
The ranking part of this GBP audit uses a geo-grid: we check your position for your main search at points spread across the area you serve, rather than from one spot. That map pack ranking report shows which neighbourhoods see you and which do not. If you are not showing anywhere, read why a Google Business Profile may not be showing.
What's included
Each check is scored, so you can see where points were lost.
Every field Google offers your type of business, from the description (up to 750 characters) and hours to products, attributes and photos, checked against Google's guidelines rather than just filled in.
Whether your primary category is the most specific fit for your main service, and whether your additional categories (up to nine) cover work you actually sell.
The services on your profile compared with what you offer and what your website says, looking for gaps that stop you matching more specific searches.
Your name, address and phone number on YellowPages.ca, 411.ca, Canada411, Yelp, the BBB, Apple Business Connect and Bing Places, with every mismatch, duplicate and missing listing noted.
How many reviews you have, how recent they are, how many have a reply, and whether your email and text requests meet CASL rules on consent, identification and unsubscribing.
Your position for your main search at points across your service area, plotted on a map to show where you appear and who appears instead.
The page your profile links to and any area pages: whether each is useful on its own and matches the profile.
Anything Google's guidelines treat as a problem: keywords in the business name, a virtual office or co-working address, duplicate profiles, or a service area beyond about two hours' drive.
What you receive
Yours to keep, whether or not you hire us.
| What it shows | Why it helps | |
|---|---|---|
| Profile score out of 100 | Points earned and lost in each area of the profile | Shows at a glance which part of the profile is weakest |
| Geo-grid snapshot | Your ranking for your main search across your service area | Replaces guesswork with a map of where you are visible |
| Ranked fixes | Each fix with a plain reason, ordered by what it is worth | Tells you what to do first, and what can wait or be skipped |
How the score works
One checklist for every profile, so a rescore shows real change.

| Additional categories | 5 | Only work you actually sell |
| Name, address and phone | 15 | Identical on the profile, website and directories |
| Hours | 5 | True regular hours and current holiday hours |
| Website and location page | 10 | A useful page with matching details |
| Services and products | 5 | Listed and clearly named |
| Description | 5 | Says what you do and where, without stuffing |
| Photos | 10 | Real and recent, not only a logo |
| Reviews | 10 | Count and recency against nearby competitors |
| Review replies | 5 | Replies to good and bad reviews |
| Updates | 5 | A post in the last 30 days |
Who it is for
It suits any business with a location or service area in Canada, and it is the first step in all our local SEO services. It helps most when one of these sounds familiar:
What happens after
The audit stands on its own. If you decide to go further, the work follows this order.
You send your business name and the search you most want to win. We run the checks above and send the score, the snapshot and the ranked fixes. You can stop there and work through the list yourself; there is no obligation.
If you want us to do the work, we start at the top of the list, usually with risks and category or service gaps, and make the changes in your profile ourselves, within Google's guidelines, keeping a record of every edit.
Next come the slower fixes the audit found: a review request routine built around CASL consent, replies to older reviews that were left unanswered, and corrections to mismatched or duplicate listings on YellowPages.ca, Yelp, the BBB and the other Canadian directories your customers use.
We add posts and recent photos to the profile and improve the website pages the audit marked as weak, so that the profile and the site tell Google the same clear story about your services and the towns and neighbourhoods you cover.
We re-run the geo-grid against your original snapshot and report from your own Google accounts. Ongoing Google Business Profile management is optional; some businesses only want the one-off fixes and then run the profile themselves, using the audit as their checklist.

FAQ
The things Canadian business owners ask before they commission anything. If yours is not here, put it in the form.
Yes. The audit is free and there is no obligation to buy anything afterwards. It is how we scope work honestly: pricing for any fixes or ongoing management is scoped after the free audit, in Canadian dollars plus applicable GST/HST, once we know what your profile actually needs.
A GBP audit is a review of your Google Business Profile, formerly Google My Business, against Google's guidelines and against what searchers need to see. Ours covers categories, services, description, hours, photos, reviews and suspension risks, then adds citation, website and geo-grid ranking checks outside the profile.
It shows where your business ranks for one search at many points across your service area, laid out as a grid on a map. Because Google weighs distance, your position can change from one neighbourhood to the next, so a single check from your own location gives a misleading picture.
No. The audit uses what is publicly visible: your profile, your listings and your rankings. If you later want us to make changes, you add us as a manager on the profile, so you remain the owner and can remove our access whenever you choose.
It can usually point to the likely cause, such as a keyword in the business name, a disallowed address or a duplicate listing. Because the cause is not always obvious, we also list what to correct first and the evidence an appeal would need, such as licences, signage photos or utility bills.
The principles are the same, but the details differ. A local SEO audit for Canada checks Canadian directories such as YellowPages.ca, 411.ca and Canada411, postal code format, provincial holiday hours, CASL rules for review requests and, in Quebec, French-language requirements for commercial communication.
