Technical SEO
Crawlability, indexation, rendering, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, schema and migrations. This is where the cheapest wins usually are, because a page a crawler never fetches cannot be helped by better content or more links.
Most SEO proposals promise rankings and deliver a spreadsheet. We are a software company that does SEO, so the deliverable is the change made and measured: the fix shipped, the page rewritten, the schema deployed, and the Search Console numbers before and after. That includes the AI search work, because your buyers now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI before they ever reach a blue link.
Thanks, that’s with us.

Quick answer
SEO services are the ongoing work of making a site findable, understandable and worth choosing in search. In practice that is four jobs: making sure search engines can crawl, render and index the pages; making each page answer a question somebody is actually asking; earning enough external credibility that the page is trusted; and now, making the site legible to the AI assistants that increasingly answer the question instead of listing links.
Most agencies sell the middle two and quietly assume the first is fine. It usually is not. The most expensive problems we find are dull: pages excluded by a rule nobody remembers writing, canonical tags pointing at the wrong URL after a replatform, templates that produce a thousand near-identical pages competing with each other.
The fourth job is new and most UK agencies have not started on it. Answer engine optimisation and generative engine optimisation are the work of being quotable: clear direct answers, structured data an engine can parse, an entity that resolves consistently across the web, and third-party sources that corroborate what you say about yourself.
An audit tells you which of the four is your constraint. Spending on content when the constraint is indexation is the most common waste in this industry, and it is the easiest to avoid.
What we do
Six disciplines. Each has its own page with the detail, and an audit tells you which ones your site actually needs rather than selling you all of them.
Crawlability, indexation, rendering, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, schema and migrations. This is where the cheapest wins usually are, because a page a crawler never fetches cannot be helped by better content or more links.
Google Business Profile, citations, review handling and location pages for businesses that trade somewhere specific. The map pack takes most of the clicks on local searches, and ranking fourth organically is not a substitute.
Catalogue and category structure, faceted navigation, product templates and the crawl budget they consume. On large stores the problem is rarely one page; it is a template decision repeated ten thousand times.
Making the site legible to the assistants people now ask instead of searching. Clear answers, consistent entity data and sources that corroborate you, so an assistant can quote you with confidence.
Structuring pages so they can be lifted directly into an answer: a question asked the way people ask it, answered in the first forty words, with the structured data that lets a machine confirm what it just read.
The entity work behind AI citation: one consistent description of who you are across your site, your schema, your directory profiles and your press, so a model has no competing versions to choose between.
Pages built for queries with real demand, structured for the intent behind them, and internally linked so authority reaches the pages that need it. Thin pages that serve nobody get consolidated or retired.
Search Console, Analytics and rank tracking configured in your accounts, under your billing. If you stop working with us you keep the history, the properties and the data.
The gap
The usual engagement produces recommendations your developers never get around to. Ours produces diffs.
Not sure whether your problem is technical, content or authority?
That is what the audit settles. We crawl the site, compare it against what Google has actually indexed, check what you already rank for, and tell you plainly where the ceiling is before anybody proposes a retainer.
In practice
Six recurring patterns. These describe what we see across engagements, not named client projects.
A site that gets found by people who already know the company, and by nobody else. Usually the pages exist but target how the business describes itself rather than how buyers describe the problem. The fix is query research before writing, not more writing.
Large catalogues or templated sites where most URLs sit at Crawled, currently not indexed. The cause is rarely one setting. It is near-duplicate templates, weak internal linking to deep pages, and crawl budget spent on filter combinations nobody searches for.
A redesign or replatform that lost rankings the business had taken years to build. Redirect maps that covered the top pages and missed the long tail, canonical tags inherited from a staging domain, or a robots rule that survived the launch.
A business that trades in a specific place, ranks reasonably in the organic results, and never appears in the three-result block that takes most of the clicks. Profile completeness, categories, citations and review flow usually explain the gap.
Buyers asking ChatGPT or Copilot for a shortlist and getting competitors. Often the site is perfectly rankable but says nothing an assistant can quote, has no structured data to confirm it, and no third-party sources that corroborate the claims.
Several pages built over the years for variations of the same query, splitting links and confusing which one should rank. Consolidating them into one page with the redirects done properly usually recovers more than publishing another.
How we work
The audit is free. What follows is ordered by what each change is worth, not by the order findings appear in a report.
A crawl of the site compared against what Search Console says is actually indexed, the queries you already rank for, how the pages render, and whether an AI assistant can find and quote you. The aim is to separate symptoms from causes before anyone proposes work.
Every finding gets an estimate of what fixing it is worth and what it costs to fix. Items where those two numbers do not justify each other are written down and not done. You see the whole list, including the parts we recommend skipping.
The people who found the problem make the change, in your codebase or ours, with your approval on anything that touches live pages. Schema, redirects, templates, internal linking and the copy itself, shipped rather than recommended.
Before and after from your own Search Console: impressions, position and clicks on the queries the work targeted, plus whether the pages are being cited in AI answers. Where a change did not work, we say so and we say what we are doing instead.

Honest fit
SEO compounds slowly and it is not the right first channel for everyone. Here is when it is worth it and when it is not.
What you are buying
Three shapes of engagement. The audit is free and carries no obligation to take either of the others.
| Free audit | Fix and launch | Ongoing SEO partner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You get | Findings ranked, in writing | The fixes implemented and shipped | Continuous diagnosis, content and fixing |
| Who implements | Nobody yet | Us, with your approval | Us, inside your release cycle |
| AEO and GEO | Assessed | Schema and answer formatting included | Entity and citation work ongoing |
| Reporting | One written report | Before and after, from your Search Console | Monthly, from your own properties |
| Commercial shape | Free, no obligation | Fixed scope, from £2,500 | Monthly retainer, from £1,500 a month |
| Best when | You do not know where the ceiling is | You know the problem and need it fixed | Search is a primary channel for you |

Ask about your projectMost work here is a monthly retainer, from £1,500 a month, because rankings need continuous work on content, links and technical health. Larger or multi-market programmes usually start from £3,000, and one-off technical projects from £2,500. The audit is free and the quote follows it, once the scope is known.
Technical fixes can move things within weeks because you are removing an obstacle rather than building authority. Competitive commercial terms usually take months. Anyone who promises a position by a date is guessing, so we tell you what we expect to move first and report against that.
SEO aims to rank a page in a list of links. Answer engine optimisation aims to have your words used in the answer itself, in an AI Overview or an assistant's reply. The technical groundwork overlaps heavily, but the writing and the structured data differ.
No, and nobody honestly can. Search results depend on competitors, on Google's changes and on factors outside any agency's control. What we will commit to is telling you what we are doing, why, and what measurably happened, including when something did not work.
We can audit without access, and we can hand findings to your developers. But the value in our approach comes from implementing the changes ourselves, so engagements where we never get access tend to stall in somebody else's backlog and we will say so upfront.
A crawl compared against what Google has actually indexed, the queries you currently rank for, how your pages render, your structured data, and whether AI assistants can find and quote you. You get the findings ranked by value in writing, with no obligation to buy anything.
Yes. Search Console, Analytics and rank tracking are set up in your own accounts under your billing, not inside a dashboard we control. If the engagement ends you keep the properties, the history and the configuration without needing anything from us.
The click-through from search has fallen, which makes being the source of the answer more valuable rather than less. The sites that get cited in AI answers are overwhelmingly the ones that already rank, so the work compounds across both rather than competing.
Yes. We deliver technical SEO, local SEO and AI search work behind other agencies' branding, where you keep the client relationship and we do the delivery. It is a common arrangement for agencies who win search work but do not want to hire engineers for it.
Mostly established small and mid-sized businesses where search already drives enquiries and the site is big enough for structure to matter. Very small brochure sites rarely need an ongoing retainer, and we will tell you if a one-off fix is all you need.
