Google review management fixes a quiet problem: happy customers rarely leave a review unless someone asks them properly. Meanwhile unanswered complaints and an ageing review count make a competitor in the map pack look like the safer choice.
Thanks, that’s with us.

Google review management is the system behind your reviews: asking every customer at the right moment, replying to every review and reporting the ones that break Google's policies. Done well, it gives you a steady flow of recent, genuine reviews from real customers instead of one burst followed by months of silence.
Reviews feed what Google calls prominence, one of the three main factors behind local results along with relevance and distance. Customers read them too, and they notice when the newest review is old or a complaint has no reply. Google review generation is therefore about steady habits, not a one-week push.
Canada adds two layers. Email and text requests are commercial electronic messages under CASL, so consent and an unsubscribe mechanism matter, and the Competition Bureau treats fake or misleading reviews as deceptive marketing under the Competition Act. Our step-by-step guide to getting more Google reviews covers the do-it-yourself version in detail.

What's included
What review management covers
Asking, replying, reporting and measuring.
01
Request flow
We write the request messages, set up the short review link from your profile, and agree when each customer is asked: after the invoice is paid, the job is signed off or the appointment ends. Every customer is asked, so your reviews reflect your real customer base.
02
Email and text requests
Every email and text request names your business as the sender and carries an unsubscribe mechanism, and we check your list against the implied consent limits CASL sets. Where consent is unclear, we suggest asking in person or getting express consent first.
03
Staff prompts and cards
Your team asks in person better than any email. We give them a short, natural script and, where it suits the business, a printed card or counter sign with a QR code that opens the review form on the customer's phone.
04
Replies to positive reviews
For a five-star review of a furnace repair, a good reply thanks the customer by name, mentions the technician they praised and says you are glad the house is warm again. Specific replies like that read far better than one sentence pasted under every review.
05
Replies to negative reviews
For a one-star review about a missed appointment, a good reply apologises for the wait, says briefly what has changed in scheduling and gives a direct way to reach the owner. It never argues details or shares private information. Future customers judge the reply as much as the complaint.
06
Fake and policy-breaking reviews
Spam, reviews from people who were never customers, conflicts of interest and offensive content can be reported. We report them through Google's process with the reason stated clearly. Google decides, and it does not remove reviews simply because they are negative or unfair.
07
Monitoring
We watch for new reviews so none go unanswered and flag patterns worth acting on, such as repeated complaints about one issue or a sudden run of suspicious one-star reviews. Review work can also run inside our Google Business Profile management retainer.
08
Monthly reporting
Each month you see requests sent, new reviews, average rating, replies posted and reports filed, all from your own Google accounts. Asking for reviews and responding to Google reviews become routine, and the report shows whether the routine is working.
Consent
How CASL applies to review requests
Review request emails in Canada, and texts, are commercial electronic messages under CASL. Implied consent generally covers customers who bought from you in the last two years or enquired in the last six months. We set requests up around those rules:
Your business named as the sender in every message
A working unsubscribe mechanism in every email and text
Lists checked against purchase and enquiry dates
Unsubscribed customers removed from future requests
How it works
Our five-step review process
In this order, every time.
1. Audit
The free audit looks at your review count, how recent the reviews are, how many have replies and whether any appear to break Google's policies. It also scores the whole profile out of 100, because reviews work best on a profile that is accurate and complete.
2. Fix and optimize
Before asking anyone, we fix what customers see when they click through: categories, services, photos, hours and description. Sending people to a weak profile wastes their goodwill. Deeper profile work is covered by our Google Business Profile optimization service if you need it.
3. Reviews and citations
We launch the request flow, write reply templates you approve and clear the backlog of unanswered reviews. We also check your listings on the main Canadian business directories, since customers leave reviews on Yelp and the BBB, and those deserve replies too.
4. Posts and content
Good reviews make good content. Using what customers praise as a prompt, we write posts about those jobs, add matching photos, and work the questions that keep coming up in reviews into your services list and the business description on your profile.
5. Track and report
Each month we report new reviews, rating, reply coverage and reported reviews, and rerun the geo-grid for your main search. If a channel is not producing reviews, we change its timing, wording or format rather than simply sending more messages.

FAQ
Google review management questions, answered
The things Canadian business owners ask before they commission anything. If yours is not here, put it in the form.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. A specialist reads every message.
Review gating means asking customers how they feel first, then sending only happy ones to Google and steering unhappy ones to a private form. Google's policies prohibit it because it distorts what customers see, and the Competition Bureau treats misleading reviews as deceptive marketing.
02
Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?
No. Google's policies do not allow incentives for reviews, whether a discount, a gift card, a prize draw entry or a free extra, even when you ask for honest feedback. An incentivised review looks independent but was paid for, which is why we never use them.
03
Do review request emails in Canada need consent?
Yes. Review request emails and texts are commercial electronic messages under CASL. Implied consent generally covers customers who bought in the last two years or enquired in the last six months. Every message must identify the sender and include an unsubscribe mechanism.
04
Should I reply to every Google review?
Yes. Replying to positive reviews shows customers you notice them, and replying to negative ones shows future customers how you handle problems. Keep replies short and specific, never argue in public, and never confirm private details about the customer or the work.
05
Can you remove a bad review?
Nobody can remove a genuine review just because it is negative. If a review breaks Google's policies, for example spam, a fake account, a conflict of interest or offensive content, we report it through Google's process. Google makes the decision. For honest criticism, a calm reply is the right tool.
06
Can regulated professionals ask for Google reviews?
It depends on your regulator. Provincial regulators such as dental colleges and law societies set advertising rules that often restrict testimonials and claims of superiority, so check your regulator's advertising standard first. Replies must also protect confidentiality. Our local SEO for dentists page covers this in more detail.
