The short answer
"Best" depends on what you are buying. A large enterprise rolling out agents across many departments needs a different partner from a small logistics firm that wants its order-entry emails handled automatically. So instead of a ranked countdown, this guide groups firms by their stated focus, then gives UK buyers a checklist to run against any shortlist, including us.
How we compared (the criteria)
- Production evidence: shipped agents with results the firm can show you, not demo videos.
- Reliability methodology: evaluation suites, monitoring, and human-approval gates for consequential actions.
- Integration depth: agents are only useful when they can act inside your CRM, ERP, helpdesk and database.
- Commercial model: a written, scoped quote versus open-ended hourly billing.
- Post-launch support: models and APIs change often, and someone must maintain prompts, evaluations and costs.
What UK buyers should check
Most "best agency" lists are written for US buyers. If your business is in the UK, add these checks before you sign anything, whichever firm you choose:
- UK GDPR roles and the contract. An agent that reads customer emails, calls or records is processing personal data. Agree who is the controller and who is the processor, and put a written data processing agreement in place that covers what the agent can access, how long data is kept and how it is deleted. A data protection impact assessment (DPIA) is required where processing is likely to result in a high risk to individuals, so ask the firm how they support one. The ICO's guidance on AI and data protection is a good primer.
- Where data is stored and processed. Ask where the agent is hosted, which model providers it calls and in which regions. If personal data leaves the UK, ask which transfer mechanism covers it: UK adequacy regulations, the UK–US data bridge, or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
- A UK legal entity. Look the firm up on Companies House, confirm exactly which entity you are contracting with, and check which country's law governs the contract. A UK company under English law is simpler to deal with if something goes wrong.
- Time zone and working hours. Ask which hours overlap with your working day, who responds when the agent misbehaves during UK hours, and how an urgent issue reaches someone outside them.
- Currency and VAT. Ask for the quote in pounds with the VAT treatment stated, so you are not exposed to exchange-rate swings on a dollar invoice.

A data science consultancy. Consider it when your agent depends on custom machine learning underneath, such as forecasting, vision or language models trained for a specific task, rather than purely on orchestrating a general LLM.

A Polish software house that presents product design as a core strength. A fit when the agent is part of a product your customers use, where the user experience matters as much as the AI: dashboards, copilots and SaaS features.
6. Simform: cloud-native agent infrastructure
An engineering firm focused on cloud and product engineering. Consider it when the hard part of your project is the surrounding infrastructure: event pipelines, serverless orchestration and enterprise security reviews.
7. ELEKS: regulated-industry deployments
An Eastern European software firm that works across regulated sectors such as finance and healthcare. Consider it where regulators will scrutinise the agent's decision trail, and ask for references from your sector.
8. Master of Code Global: conversational agents for consumer brands
A conversational AI specialist. Consider it for customer-facing assistants on web, WhatsApp and other messaging channels where conversation design is the main challenge.
9. Azati: contained ML and agent projects
A smaller software and machine learning consultancy. Consider it for well-defined, contained agent projects, and compare quotes against the same written scope.
10. Vention: staff augmentation for agent teams
An engineering-talent provider rather than a project shop. If you have in-house AI leadership and need to add engineers who have built agents before, this model can suit you better than hiring an agency to deliver a project.

How to actually choose (5-question test)
Whichever firms make your shortlist, including us, put these to them on the first call:
- "Show me a production agent and its measured result." Ask for results you can check: hours saved, tickets resolved, errors caught. Demos prove nothing about reliability.

- "What happens when the model provider ships a breaking change?" You want a maintenance answer, not a blank stare.
- "Can I have a written quote with scope and exclusions?" Agent scope is definable. A quote that names what is included, what is not, and how model usage is billed protects both sides.
- "Who owns the code, prompts and evaluation data, and from when?" Get the answer written into the contract.
