Technical SEO
Crawling, indexing, rendering, page speed, Core Web Vitals and structured data. We fix problems in the template so one change repairs every page built from it, which matters most on large catalogues and listing sites.
Technical SEO, content, local search and AI search for businesses that sell across Australia, whether that means one state or every capital city. We are a software company that does SEO, so you get the change itself rather than a report about it. The work is done remotely by a UK-registered company with a remote team, and calls are booked in your working hours.

Quick answer
SEO services are the ongoing work of making a website easy to find, easy to understand and worth choosing when someone searches. For an Australian business that now means three places at once: the ordinary Google results, the map results that appear for searches with a suburb or city in them, and the answers that AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews give when someone asks for a recommendation.
Underneath all three sit the same four jobs. Search engines must be able to crawl, render and index your pages. Each page must answer a question real buyers ask, in their words. The site needs enough outside credibility to be trusted. And the business must be described consistently enough for an assistant to recommend it with confidence.
SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd is registered in the UK, with a registered office in London and a team that works remotely; there is no office, staff, entity or phone line in Australia. Video calls are booked inside your working day on east coast, central or Perth time, and between calls the work runs in writing. Nothing changes on a live page until you approve it, and the people who diagnose a problem also write the fix.
What we do
Eight areas of work. Most sites need three or four of them, and the audit shows which, so the work is ordered by value rather than by a checklist.
Crawling, indexing, rendering, page speed, Core Web Vitals and structured data. We fix problems in the template so one change repairs every page built from it, which matters most on large catalogues and listing sites.
Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and the Australian directories that matter in your sector, plus a review routine your staff will keep up.
Category structure, faceted navigation and product templates on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or a custom build, where one template decision repeats across every product.
Pages arranged so an assistant or an AI Overview can quote the answer: the question phrased the way Australians ask it, a direct answer near the top, and structured data that backs up what the page says.
Your business described the same way on your site, in your schema, on directory profiles and in press coverage, so AI models are not choosing between conflicting versions of who you are and where you work.
Pages for searches with real Australian demand, written for the intent behind them and linked from the pages that already carry authority. Pages that add nothing are merged into stronger ones or removed.
Redirect maps built from every old URL, including moves between .com, .com.au and .au, and checked after launch so the new site keeps what the old one earned.
Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, analytics and enquiry tracking set up in your own accounts, so the history stays with your business if you ever change provider.
AI search
Being recommended by an AI assistant rests on the same foundations as ranking in Google, plus a few things Google never needed.
Ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a physio in Newcastle or a supplier of conveyor parts for a mine site, and the answer is assembled from pages the assistant can fetch and from what other sources say about each business. AI SEO makes your business usable as one of those sources: pages that answer the question outright, company details that match wherever they appear, and structured data stating what you do and which parts of Australia you serve.
There is a technical catch. A number of AI crawlers fetch the raw HTML and do not run JavaScript, so a site that assembles its content in the browser can look fine in Google and close to empty to an assistant. We check what Googlebot, Bingbot, GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot each receive, make sure robots rules and firewall settings are not blocking them by mistake, and close any gap in the template.
Google’s AI Overviews now appear in Australian results, and Copilot answers draw on Bing, which is one reason we set up Bing Webmaster Tools even though Google carries most Australian searches. None of this replaces ordinary SEO: the pages assistants quote are mostly pages that already rank.
The Australian market
The principles are the same everywhere. The vocabulary, the domains, the directories and the rules are not.
Keyword research has to be done in Australian English. People here search for a removalist, a tradie, aircon servicing, a conveyancer, a chemist or a physio, and a plan built from American or British keyword lists will miss the words that bring in the work. Place names matter too: suburbs, regional towns and shortened names such as the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast or the Shire all behave as separate local markets.
Australia is also several markets at once. Demand concentrates in the capital cities, and many services are licensed state by state: a builder licensed only in Victoria gains nothing from ranking in Queensland. Where licensing, pricing or rules genuinely differ between states, separate state pages earn their place. Where they do not, one strong national page usually does better than eight thin ones.
Local search here runs on more than Google. Apple Maps is the default on iPhones, and depending on the sector buyers also check ProductReview.com.au, True Local, hipages or Oneflare for trades, or HealthEngine and HotDoc for clinics. Consistent listings on the few that matter to your buyers are part of the work.
Some rules shape what a page can say. Australian Consumer Law treats fake or misleading reviews as misleading conduct, so we never buy or write reviews. Health practitioners advertise under AHPRA’s guidelines, which restrict testimonials, and online stores generally have to show a single total price that includes GST. We draft copy with those rules in mind, and your own adviser has the final say on anything regulated.
Choosing well
Providers range from sole consultants to national networks, and a few questions sort them out quickly.
Ask who implements the fixes. An audit is only worth what gets done with it, so ask any SEO company you speak to, us included, who changes the website once the findings are in. Ask whose accounts the data lives in, so you keep the history if you change provider, and how reporting connects to enquiries rather than stopping at traffic.
Be wary of a specific position promised by a date, links bought in bulk, hundreds of near-identical suburb pages generated in a week, and long lock-in contracts. Our guide to choosing an SEO company in Australia goes through the questions in more depth. Hold us to the same standard.
The gap
The service is good and the site looks fine, but the enquiries go to competitors because search engines and assistants cannot see what you offer.
Technical, content or authority: which one is holding you back?
The free audit answers that before anyone mentions a retainer: what Google has indexed, which Australian searches you appear for, what AI assistants say about your category, and where the real limit is.
Examples
Illustrative situations, not named client projects or results, showing the kind of problem and the work that addresses it.
For example, a Brisbane software company on a .com might rank in American results while local competitors win the Australian ones. The fix is usually Australian English pages, pricing in AUD, en-AU hreflang if other markets matter, and Australian customers and integrations named where that is true.
Aim: being found by Australian buyers first
A homewares retailer on Shopify might have tens of thousands of colour, size and price filter URLs in Google while its main category pages carry two lines of text. The work is controlling which filtered pages can be indexed, writing category copy that answers buyer questions, and product schema with AUD prices that include GST.
Aim: crawling spent on the pages that sell
An accounting firm moving from a .com to a .com.au might lose rankings it took years to build because only the top pages were redirected. The work is a redirect map built from the full URL history and checked after launch.
Aim: the old pages’ value carried across
How we work
The audit costs nothing. After that, work is ordered by value, and nothing goes live until you approve it.
A crawl checked against what Search Console says is indexed, a look at rendering, listings and AI answers, and the Australian searches you already appear for. Findings in writing.
Every finding is weighed by what fixing it is worth against what it costs. Together we pick the searches, services and states that matter most, and we note what we suggest leaving alone.
We make the changes in your CMS or codebase: templates, redirects, schema, internal links, listings and copy. Anything that touches a live page waits for your approval.
A short monthly note from your own Search Console and analytics, with enquiries where they can be tracked and the same AI prompts rechecked. If something has not worked, the note says so and what changes next.
Clear scope · Regular demos · Full handover
Honest fit
SEO builds slowly, and for some businesses it is the wrong first channel. We would rather tell you on the first call.
What you are buying
Three ways to start. The audit is free and does not commit you to either of the other two.
| Free audit | Fix and launch project | Ongoing SEO and AI search | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you receive | Written findings, ranked by value | The agreed fixes built and shipped | Diagnosis, content, fixes and AI search work, month by month |
| Who makes the changes | No one yet | We do, once you approve | We do, inside your release process |
| AEO and GEO | Checked against a set of prompts | Schema and answer formatting included | Entity and citation work continues |
| Reporting | One written report | Before and after, read from your Search Console | A monthly note from your own accounts |
| Cost | Free | Written quote after a free call | Get Found in AI Search from £1,500 a month; a wider scope is quoted in writing |
| Suits you when | You do not yet know what is holding the site back | You know the problem and want it fixed | Search is, or should be, a main source of enquiries |
Sectors
Sectors where search is a main route to an enquiry, and where the sites are large, local or templated enough for structure to matter.
FAQ
Questions Australian owners and marketing managers ask before commissioning SEO. If yours is missing, ask it in the form.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. A senior engineer reads every question.
Ask about your projectNo. SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd is a UK company with its registered office at 182-184 High Street N, London E6 2JA, and everyone on the team works remotely. We have no office, staff, entity or phone number in Australia. If your procurement rules require an Australian-registered supplier, tell us early and we will say plainly that we are not the right fit.
Ongoing technical SEO, AEO and GEO work runs through our Get Found in AI Search retainer, from £1,500 a month, starting with the free audit. One-off work such as a technical fix project, a local SEO setup or a migration is quoted in writing after a free call, with scope and exclusions agreed first. Invoices can be in AUD, USD or GBP, as set out in the quote.
Yes. Some businesses want a one-off piece of SEO consultancy: an audit with the fixes ranked, a plan for a site migration, a review of a proposal from another agency, or a few sessions with their own developers. That is scoped and quoted in writing after a free call. If your team can implement the changes, you may not need a retainer at all, and we will say so.
It depends on what is holding the site back. Removing an obstacle, such as pages blocked from indexing or a broken redirect, can show once Google recrawls those pages. Winning competitive searches against established Australian competitors is slower and usually measured in months. After the audit we say which changes we expect to show first and report against those.
Nobody can honestly tell you that in advance. Google and the AI assistants decide what they show, your competitors keep working too, and no provider controls either. Be wary of anyone who sells a fixed position. What we do commit to is explaining what we are changing and why, doing it properly, and reporting what moved and what did not.
Yes. Many Australian businesses also sell across the Tasman. The usual setup is separate .com.au and .co.nz sites, or one site with a folder per country, joined by en-AU and en-NZ hreflang tags so each market sees its own pages and prices. Our international SEO page covers the structure, and the audit will show whether a second market is worth the extra pages yet.
If Australia is your main market, a .com.au or .au address is usually the clearer signal to Google and to buyers. Registration needs an Australian presence, such as an ABN, so hold the domain in your business’s name rather than your agency’s. If you sell into several countries from one .com, that can work just as well with a folder per market. Switching domains is a migration with real risk, so we only recommend it when the gain is clear.
The contract is with SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd, company number 16718403, registered in England and Wales. We can work under your own services agreement or purchase order process if you prefer. The invoice comes from a UK supplier, which makes it a cross-border purchase for you, so ask your accountant how GST applies in your case.
A crawl compared with what Google has indexed, the Australian searches you already appear for, checks on rendering and structured data, your Google Business Profile where it matters, and what AI assistants say about your category. The findings come in writing, ranked by value, with no obligation to buy anything.
