Local SEO and Google Maps
Google Business Profile set up properly for each real location: category, services, a realistic service area and review replies, plus consistent listings on Apple Maps, Bing Places and the directories in your sector.
Sydney is not one search market. Someone in Parramatta, someone in Bondi and someone in Chatswood see different map results for the same search. SpiderHunts is a software company, so we find what is keeping you out of Google, Google Maps and the AI assistants and then make the fixes ourselves.

Quick answer
It helps the people searching for what you sell find you, in the three places Sydney buyers now look: the ordinary Google results, the map results that appear whenever a search has a suburb or “near me” in it, and the recommendations that ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews give when someone asks who to call. All three rest on the same foundations: pages that crawlers can read, answers to real buyer questions, and a business described the same way everywhere.
What makes Sydney different is scale and spread. Google treats Greater Sydney as dozens of overlapping local markets rather than one city, so a plumber in the Inner West, a law firm in the CBD and a clinic in the Hills District each compete with a different set of businesses. The plan has to start with where your customers are, not with the word Sydney.
We should be plain about how we work. SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd is a UK-registered company with a registered office in London and a team that works remotely. We have no Sydney office, staff or entity. Calls are booked in your working day on Sydney time (AEST, or AEDT in summer), and nothing goes live without your approval. If you want an SEO company in Sydney you can visit in person, we are not that, and we would rather say so now.
What we do
Few Sydney businesses need all eight at once. The free audit shows which of them are costing you calls in the areas you serve, and the order of work follows what each fix is likely to be worth.
Google Business Profile set up properly for each real location: category, services, a realistic service area and review replies, plus consistent listings on Apple Maps, Bing Places and the directories in your sector.
Pages for the parts of Sydney you genuinely serve, each with something specific to say: the jobs you do there, call-out details, parking for clinics. Fewer, stronger pages rather than one per postcode.
Crawling, indexing, rendering, speed and Core Web Vitals. Sites with many area pages often suffer from near-duplicate templates and pages Google declines to index, so we fix the template and document each change for your developer.
Getting your business named when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews for a provider in their part of Sydney: a plain answer near the top of each service page, the suburbs you serve stated in text, and the same business facts on your site, profile and listings.
Service pages and guides built around what Sydney buyers ask, in Australian English, with prices, process and service areas stated plainly. You approve everything before it is published.
LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ markup that names your real locations and service areas, validates, and matches what the visible page says. It is generated from the page content, so a new clinic or a changed service area does not leave the code out of date.
What people across Sydney really search for, which competitors appear in each area and why, and which searches deserve a page of their own. We look at your suburbs, not only the city-wide terms.
Search Console, analytics and enquiries reported together from your own accounts, with map visibility checked from the suburbs you serve rather than one address, and a fixed set of AI assistant prompts repeated over time.
Local search
Map results depend heavily on where the searcher is standing. In a city this spread out, that changes the whole plan.
When someone searches for a dentist, an electrician or an accountant, Google weighs how relevant a business is, how prominent it is and how close it is to the searcher. In Sydney, closeness does a lot of work. A practice in Surry Hills can rank well for someone in Redfern and be invisible to someone in Ryde, so checking rankings from your own desk tells you little about the rest of your area.
So we start by mapping where your customers come from. For a business with premises, that means a radius around each location plus the areas people travel in from, such as the CBD and Pyrmont for office workers or Westmead for a Parramatta clinic. For a service-area business, such as a tradie or a mobile clinic, it means the suburbs you actually drive to. Google’s guidance is that a service area should not stretch beyond about two hours of driving from your base, and one drawn across all of Sydney rarely helps.
Then we decide which areas deserve their own page. A Northern Beaches page is useful if you genuinely work there and have something specific to say. Twenty pages that swap one suburb name for another are not, and Google’s spam policies treat pages like that as doorway pages.
AI search
More buyers now ask an assistant before they search. The assistant builds its answer from sources it can read and trust.
Ask ChatGPT or Gemini for a family lawyer in Parramatta or an accountant for tradies in the Sutherland Shire, and the reply draws on pages the assistant can fetch, on directories and review sites, and on what other sources say about each business. AEO (answer engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation) are the work of becoming one of those sources: plain answers near the top of the page, business facts that agree everywhere they appear, and structured data that names what you do and where.
Many AI crawlers fetch the raw HTML and do not run JavaScript, so a site whose text is assembled in the browser can rank in Google yet give an assistant almost nothing to read. We compare what Googlebot, GPTBot and PerplexityBot each receive and close any gap at the template. This sits on top of normal SEO rather than replacing it.
How it runs
The time difference is real, so we plan around it rather than pretend it away.
Sydney is between nine and eleven hours ahead of the UK, depending on the time of year, because New South Wales and the UK change their clocks in opposite seasons. We book calls inside your working day on Sydney time, and most of the work happens in writing between calls: a shared document of findings, a list of what is changing and why, and a short note each month.
You keep ownership of everything. Search Console, Google Analytics, your Google Business Profile and your site stay in your accounts, and we work with access you grant and can remove at any time. You contract with SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd, a UK company, and invoices can be raised in AUD, USD or GBP, with the figure set in the written quote. Because the supplier is overseas, your accountant should confirm how GST applies to the purchase.
Why it matters
The work is good and the reviews are kind. The calls still go to a competitor two suburbs away, because Google and the assistants cannot tell where you work or what you do.
Not sure why a competitor shows up and you do not?
The free audit answers that: what Google has indexed, how the map results look from the suburbs you serve rather than from your own address, whether AI assistants name you, and whether the gap is technical, content, local or authority.
Examples
Typical situations, and the work that addresses them. These are illustrative examples, not client results.
For example, an electrician working out of the Hills District might get enquiries from Cronulla and Campbelltown that are too far to take, and none from Castle Hill or Baulkham Hills. The fix is usually a realistic service area, area pages for the suburbs they really serve and review replies that mention the work done.
Aim: more enquiries from suburbs worth driving to
For example, a physio practice with sites in Parramatta and Castle Hill might find that only the original location appears in the map results. Each site needs its own complete profile and its own page on the website, with copy checked against the advertising rules for regulated health services.
Aim: each clinic appearing for its own area
For example, an accounting or law firm in the CBD or North Sydney whose site renders in the browser and states its services vaguely, so assistants never mention it. Server-rendered content and plain answers to the questions clients ask make it something an assistant can quote.
Aim: being a source assistants can cite
How we work
Four stages. Nothing on your site changes until the findings are written down and you have agreed the priorities.
We crawl the site, compare it with what Google has indexed, check your profile and the map results from your suburbs, and ask AI assistants what your customers ask. The findings come in writing.
We put a value and a cost against each finding, then agree on a call in your working day which suburbs, services and searches come first, and what is not worth doing yet.
We make the changes: technical fixes, profiles, area pages, schema and content. You approve before anything goes live, and every change is listed so your team or developer can review it.
Each month we look at Search Console, analytics, enquiries by area, map visibility and AI assistant answers, and send a short note: what moved, what did not, and the next piece of work.

FAQ
What business owners and marketing managers in Sydney ask before they start.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. A senior engineer reads every question.
Ask about your projectNo. SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd is registered in the United Kingdom with a registered office in London, and the team works remotely. There is no office, staff member, entity or phone number in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia. Work runs over video calls booked in your working day on Sydney time, shared documents, and access you grant to your own Search Console, analytics and Google Business Profile.
Anywhere in Greater Sydney, from Hornsby to the Sutherland Shire and from Manly to Penrith, because nothing about the work depends on being nearby. What shapes the plan is where your customers are, so pages and profiles follow your real service area rather than a list of suburbs.
It depends on who will make the changes. Consultancy suits a business with its own developer or marketer: you get the audit, the priorities and advice, and your team implements. A full-service arrangement suits a business without that capacity, because the same people who find the problem also fix it. We do both, and the free audit is the same starting point either way.
Usually not from one location, and it is worth being honest about that. Map results lean heavily on how close a business is to the searcher, so a clinic in Bondi will rarely appear for someone in Penrith. What you can do is rank well across the area you genuinely serve, with a profile for each real location, and use your website for searches further afield. We will not set up a profile at an address you do not operate from, because it breaks Google’s rules and the profile can be suspended.
Usually local ones first. Someone in Westmead or Harris Park searching for an accountant is shown firms nearby, while a Parramatta firm chasing plain “Sydney” searches competes with every firm in the CBD. Build pages and a profile around Parramatta and its neighbours first, then add a broader Sydney page if you genuinely serve clients across the city.
Technical fixes can show once Google recrawls the affected pages, because you are removing an obstacle rather than building authority, and Google Business Profile changes are often picked up relatively quickly. Competitive Sydney searches usually take months, depending on the competition in your area and the state of the site. After the audit we say which changes we expect to show first.
No. Google and the AI assistants decide what they show, your Sydney competitors keep working on their own sites, and no provider controls either. What we commit to is the work: removing what holds the site back, publishing pages that deserve to rank, and reporting plainly on what changed. Treat any promise of a fixed position as a warning sign.
Ongoing technical SEO, AEO and GEO work runs through our Get Found in AI Search retainer, from £1,500 a month, starting with a free audit. A local SEO set-up for one or more locations, a technical fix project or other one-off work is quoted in writing after a free call, with scope and exclusions agreed first. We can invoice in AUD, USD or GBP as set out in the quote; because the supplier is overseas, ask your accountant how GST applies.
A crawl of your site compared with what Google has indexed, the searches you already appear for, how your pages render for search and AI crawlers, your structured data, your Google Business Profile and map visibility across the suburbs you serve, and whether AI assistants mention you. You get the findings in writing, ranked by value, with no obligation to buy anything.
