Operations software & internal tools
Admin panels, operations portals, approval workflows and the systems no vendor sells as you need them, built around how your team actually works rather than around a product roadmap.
We are a UK-registered company with a remote engineering team, working with Austin companies: custom software, internal systems, AI and machine learning across SaaS, semiconductors and hardware, energy technology, healthcare and live events. Calls, demos and reviews are scheduled in your Central Time working hours, your systems run in a US cloud region you control, and contracts are in US dollars.
Thanks, that’s with us.

Technologies we build with
Quick answer
SpiderHunts Technologies is a software and AI development company registered in the United Kingdom, with a registered office in London, working remotely. We have no Austin office, no Texas entity and nobody on the payroll in the United States. We work with Austin companies remotely: calls and demos scheduled in your Central Time working hours, a shared Slack or Teams channel, code in your own repositories, and infrastructure in a US cloud region you control.
Austin is a city that grew fast enough that most companies here outgrew a system recently. Most of what we are asked for in Central Texas is operational: the system between the platforms you already run, the workflow nobody has automated, the reporting rebuilt by hand every month.
We would rather tell you a problem does not need custom software than sell you a build. If configuration or a better report solves it, we will say so.
What we build
The systems that sit between the platforms you already bought: built on your data, released into your own cloud account.
Admin panels, operations portals, approval workflows and the systems no vendor sells as you need them, built around how your team actually works rather than around a product roadmap.
Test and yield data pulled into one place, lot and tool traceability, manufacturing and ERP integration, and the customer-facing tooling around a physical product, for fabs, suppliers and hardware companies across Central Texas.
Extra capacity for a product team: customer integrations with monitoring and clear failure handling, usage metering and billing, admin consoles and the internal tooling that keeps losing to the roadmap.
Interval data validation, settlement reconciliation and customer reporting for retail electricity and energy technology companies working in the ERCOT market, with gaps handled openly rather than silently filled.
Case management, permitting and reporting tools for the companies that serve Texas state agencies, with accessibility, audit trails and records retention designed in. Direct public contracts often need a US entity, which we do not have.
Referral, scheduling, intake and internal reporting tools for health systems and clinics, built to the technical safeguards HIPAA expects and integrated through HL7 or FHIR interfaces.
Extraction from invoices, contracts, test reports and clinical documents, demand and churn forecasting, anomaly detection in test, meter or invoice data, and agents that triage with a person approving.
US-region infrastructure as code, data pipelines and warehouses, CI/CD with review gates and scanning, and monitoring an on-call engineer can actually read at 6am Central.
Why it matters
Nobody sets out to run a yield review, an energy settlement or a product launch on spreadsheets. The platform covers most of the job, a gap appears, someone builds a workaround, and the workaround becomes the process.
Building software in Austin?
Tell us what you are trying to fix. We will give you an honest view on whether it needs custom software, and a realistic range if it does.
Examples
Typical problems Austin teams bring to us, and the software that addresses them. Illustrative examples of what we build, not client results.
Customer integrations built with monitoring and clear failure handling, rather than scripts that fail silently over a weekend.
Aim: finding out from a dashboard, not from a customer.
Test results pulled into one place so yield variation traces to lot, process or tool instead of being argued about.
Aim: a cause rather than a symptom.
Interval data validated and reconciled, with gaps handled honestly rather than silently filled.
Aim: numbers that survive a settlement dispute.
Rostering built on predicted attendance and spend per head rather than tickets sold, which are different numbers.
Aim: bars staffed for the people who turn up.
Progress, costs and compliance evidence captured on site rather than assembled at month-end.
Aim: knowing where a job stands this week.
Intake routed and tracked from arrival, so nothing waits in a shared inbox.
Aim: less time lost before care starts.
How we work
Short stages with a clear output each time, arranged so the time difference is never the reason something waits a day.
A 30-minute call booked in your Central Time working hours. We talk through the problem, the systems involved and the constraints, then send a written quote with scope and exclusions.
We agree which cloud account and US region the work runs in, who grants access to the ERP, test or clinical systems involved, and whether anything touches biometrics or health data before code is written.
Work lands in your repository from the start. There is a written update every day and a demo each week, both inside your working hours rather than ours.
Test-station exports, ERP interfaces, billing systems and clinical feeds are tackled early, because that is where operational projects usually come unstuck. Automated tests and scans run in the pipeline.
We release in stages with monitoring switched on. Documentation, runbooks and code stay in your accounts and repositories, and ongoing development is quoted separately if you want it.
Clear scope · Regular demos · Full handover
Is it right for you?
We would rather tell you to buy a product or hire a firm on Congress Avenue than take on a project that will not work remotely.
Technology
Mainstream languages and platforms, the integration formats Texas product and operations teams actually speak, and deployment into your own US cloud account.
Sectors
Austin runs on SaaS, semiconductors and hardware, energy technology, healthcare and live events. That mix produces a particular class of software problem: operational data in volume, systems that cannot be switched off, and a regulator or an auditor somewhere in the chain.
FAQ
Common questions from Austin businesses about working with us.
Still have a question?
Ask us directly. A senior engineer reads every question.
Ask about your projectNo. We have no US entity, no Texas office and nobody on the payroll in the United States. SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd is UK-registered, with a registered office in London, and the whole team works remotely. We work with Austin clients remotely, by video, and schedule calls, demos and reviews in your Central Time working hours.
Yes. Your contract is with SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd, a UK company, and invoices are in US dollars, payable by ACH, wire or card. The dollar figure is set in the written quote before work starts, so there is no currency surprise at invoice time. We have no US entity, so a requirement for a US-domiciled supplier is one we cannot meet.
Yes, on the software around the hardware rather than the hardware itself. That means test and yield data, manufacturing and ERP integration, device telemetry, and customer-facing portals and tooling. We do not design boards, write safety-critical firmware or work on the fab floor, and if a project needs someone physically next to the equipment each week, a local firm is the better choice.
Projects are quoted in pounds sterling and invoiced in US dollars at the rate agreed in the quote, so both sides know the dollar figure before work starts. Invoices are raised by SpiderHunts Technologies Ltd against a written scope with milestones, and we can complete a W-8BEN-E for your accounts payable team. Payment by ACH, wire or card. Your legal team is welcome to work from your own master services agreement rather than ours.
In your accounts, not ours. Austin teams commonly choose Azure South Central US, which sits in Texas, Google Cloud us-south1 in Dallas, or AWS us-east-2 in Ohio, all a short network hop from Central Texas. Code goes to your GitHub, GitLab or Azure DevOps. Engineers get named, least-privilege access you can revoke at any time, and production data stays out of development environments unless you ask otherwise.
It can. Texas has its own biometric statute, the Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act (CUBI), covering identifiers such as fingerprints, voiceprints and face geometry. Broadly, it expects notice and consent before capture, limits on selling or sharing identifiers, and destruction once the purpose has passed. So a time clock gets a badge or PIN option by default, and a face or voice feature records consent and runs a real deletion job. The legal judgement stays with your counsel.
Yes, and that is a common reason Austin product companies talk to us. We take on work that keeps losing to the roadmap: customer integrations, billing and usage metering, admin consoles, data pipelines and internal tooling. We work inside your repositories, CI and review process, and follow your conventions rather than ours. If what you need is a permanent senior hire rather than a defined piece of work, we will say so.
Not directly. Many public contracts require a US entity, state vendor registration or US-person staff, and we have none of those, so we say so before anyone spends time on a bid. What we can do is build for vendors and contractors serving Texas agencies: case management, permitting and reporting tools, with accessibility, audit trails and records retention designed in from the start.
That is usually what we recommend. Austin companies that grew quickly often run an ERP or finance system chosen in a hurry and now embedded everywhere, and a rip-and-replace is where most of the money and most of the risk goes. We build the layer above it instead: scheduling, traceability, approvals and reporting that reads live data without a six-figure module. Our note on integrating with an ERP rather than replacing it covers the approach.
We build to the technical safeguards HIPAA expects: encryption in transit and at rest, unique user identity, role-based access, automatic logoff, integrity checks and audit logs of who saw which record. We will not call the result HIPAA-compliant, because compliance covers your policies, training, contracts and physical controls as well as the software. Whether a business associate agreement is needed is a decision for your counsel. Clinical integration is normally through HL7 or FHIR interfaces your own team controls.
You get a written quote after a free scoping call. As typical ranges from our service pages: an internal tool or MVP is £8,000–£20,000 over 4–8 weeks, a business web application £20,000–£45,000 over 2–4 months, and a larger platform or modernisation £45,000–£80,000+ over 3–6 months. A focused machine learning model is £8,000–£25,000 and a single-purpose AI agent £5,000–£12,000. Those are quoted in pounds and invoiced in dollars; cloud and third-party licence costs are separate and stay in your own accounts.
No. We are fully remote, so meetings and day-to-day work happen over video, Slack or Teams and a shared board. Where a project would normally open with an on-site workshop, we run it as two or three shorter video sessions in your Central Time working hours instead, which works better over video than one long day does.
